sometimes you watch the comedy channel or whatnot and the comedian isn't really funny but you laugh anyway cause you're in a room full of friends and they are doing the same thing.

Comedian: "What came first the chicken or the egg?"
and then someone laughs and then someone else laughs even louder to compete although you don't really know why you are all laughing..

i think people may not want to make it seem like they didn't get the joke..
